Founder and CEO Robert “Bob” Stern Honored at MSAA “Improving Lives” Gala Event
for the innovation, development and collaboration in championing
the My MS Manager mobile app to the MS Community

Livingston, New Jersey—March 25, 2019—the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) honored Founder and CEO Bob Stern from @Point of Care, at the March 21, 2019 “Improving Lives” gala event in Philadelphia, PA.

In introducing Bob, MSAA CEO Gina Murdoch talked about his innovative leadership style and way of thinking, saying: “He doesn’t think outside the box; with Bob there is no box.”

In Stern’s upbeat reply about “The Better Tomorrow,” he spoke of his passion of better connecting patients with their doctors by supplying them with shared data, thus allowing them to partner in an informed way with their physicians.

He continued: “We will have reached an important milestone when the patient and doctor share a connective tissue in the decision-making process as the natural order of things, and we aspire for a time when doctors asking patients to provide their personal electronic health data during the office visit—reporting on their health status since their last appointment—will be as routine as taking their temperature, blood pressure, and weight.”

MSAA Corporate Honoree—Bob Stern
As a healthcare educator, outcomes and technology innovator, Bob founded Projects In Knowledge (PIK) in 1980 and @Point of Care in 2014. He pioneered the use of distance-learning medical technologies and broke new ground in delivering timely continuing medical education (CME) and patient education in a variety of formats, enabling tailored education to meet unique learning styles. Bob also implemented an aggressive outcomes measurement process to identify clinicians’ knowledge of acquisition and retention, and to measure practice changes.
